Body-mounted trunnion pins give a stable pivot for angular motion. Common on booms and tilting frames.
Technical specifications
Trunnion Mounted Hydraulic Cylinders feature mounting pins (trunnions) welded or bolted to the cylinder body, providing a fixed pivot axis around which the entire cylinder can swing. This design allows the cylinder to accommodate angular movement during operation while maintaining secure attachment to the machine frame.
The trunnion mount is particularly effective in applications where the cylinder must pivot through a significant arc — such as excavator booms, crane jibs, and industrial machinery with rotating components. By allowing the cylinder body itself to swing, trunnion mounting eliminates the bending stresses that would otherwise develop in the rod and seals.
KBR Engineers manufactures trunnion cylinders with precision-machined trunnion pins, reinforced mounting lugs, and high-quality bearings or bushings. Trunnion positions can be configured at the center, head, or cap end of the cylinder to suit different mechanical linkage requirements.
Every trunnion cylinder is manufactured with precision-honed barrels, chrome-plated piston rods, premium sealing systems, and undergoes complete pressure and function testing before dispatch.
